The original, on Virginia Avenue since 1982

This is where it started. Nick Koulouris opened the first Grecian Gyro on Virginia Avenue in 1982 with fifty dollars and a sauce recipe he kept to himself, and the ATL-style gyro was born here. Today the Hapeville shop sits minutes from Hartsfield-Jackson, down the road from Delta's headquarters and the Porsche Experience Center, and it still serves the same gyro. Open 10 to 9:30 on weekdays, 11 to 9 on weekends, with pickup and delivery to Hapeville, College Park and East Point. Read our story.

Start with the gyro, the wrap that built the place. The souvlaki is grilled pork on a pita, the Greek salad comes topped with your choice of meat, and the spanakopita is the side people drive across town for. Flying out? Order ahead for pickup on the way to the airport, or get it delivered to the hotel.
